Your Member of Parliament for St. John's South - Mount Pearl
Seamus O’Regan is the Minister of Indigenous Services and the Member of Parliament for St. John’s South-Mount Pearl.
Originally from St. John’s, Seamus O’Regan was raised in Goose Bay, Labrador. He studied politics at St. Francis Xavier University and University College Dublin, and marketing strategies at INSEAD, near Paris. He then went on to obtain his Master of Philosophy degree from the University of Cambridge, England.
Back in Newfoundland and Labrador, Mr. O’Regan worked as an assistant to the Minister of Justice, and as the Senior Policy Advisor to Premier Brian Tobin.
He then moved to television, where he spent 10 years as co-host of CTV’s Canada AM.
In 2015, Mr. O’Regan was elected to represent his hometown in the riding of St. John’s South-Mount Pearl, and in 2017 he was appointed to Cabinet as the Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence.
